Young Adults

We believe that Young Adults' meetings are important for encouraging young people who are committed to growing in their faith. We desire our young adults to be active and fruitful members of the church who are 'equipped for every good work'. 2 Timothy 3:17.

We meet every Saturday night for training from the Scriptures. Such training is specific to the young adult years. This training includes teaching and discussion about Christian living, service and worship. There is a particular focus on Christian foundations for those aged 18-20 years, effective ministry for those aged 21-23 years and leadership and fellowship for those aged 24-25 years.

Our meetings also give young adults the opportunity to encourage and minister to each other through song, prayer, testimony and teaching.

Teenagers

The teenage years are a significant time in a person’s life. Teenagers face various pressures and also make decisions that can affect the course of their lives. The Teenagers program provides a context for teenagers to fellowship, learn, and relate with their peers, parents and leaders.

In close connection with parents (or guardians) the Teenagers program aims to support, equip and train teenagers in areas relevant to their Christian spiritual and cultural development. The teenagers are supported in their growth in Christian culture and relationships, and they are encouraged to participate in the life of the church and to be confident in their Christian faith.

The program comprises monthly ministry meetings and organised activities, and an annual camp. Meetings incorporate training and participation through word ministry, worship and discussion. Activities promote an appreciation and understanding of godly culture in community in a variety of fellowship contexts.

The program is for youth aged 12-18 years. Leadership of the Teenagers program includes some parents of teenagers. Parents are always welcome to attend meetings and activities.

Sunday School

Every Sunday during school terms, we hold Sunday School classes catering for primary school aged children (Prep to Year 6) and are organised according to age groupings.

Our enthusiastic and dedicated teachers follow the popular 'Sonseekers' programme. Written and developed by teams of writers from churches throughout Australia and covering the whole Bible, Sonseekers is designed to give children a sound background in biblical events, people and places. Every child receives a Sonseekers workbook, which includes activities and devotions that can be completed at home with their families.

The great thing about Sonseekers is that it’s lots of fun! Each week, the children enjoy interesting and exciting lessons, including music, drama, craft and games. Most importantly, these lessons encourage them to know God and seek His will for their lives.

Prayer Groups

Prayer is a foundation of fellowship in the body of Christ, the church. Act 2:42. It is a spiritual activity, enabled by the Holy Spirit, through which believers are joined to the ongoing conversation of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Rom 8:26-27. The Scriptures encourage the participation of Christian believers in four primary contexts for prayer – individual prayer, prayer as households, prayer house to house and corporate prayer.

Every Friday morning, across the city, folk gather, house to house, for prayer. These weekly prayer meetings are an opportunity to offer praise, worship and thanksgiving to God; seek the will of God as a community of believers; edify, exhort, and comfort one another; and speak together, by faith, through testimony.

Periodically, the presbytery will call the members of our church to pray and fast together. For example, at the beginning of each year, we pray and fast for three days, seeking the Lord for His word and direction for us as a community of believers.

Bible School

The Bible School presents an opportunity for everyone, regardless of age, to participate in the systematic study of the Scriptures.

The purpose of the Bible School is to support and extend each person’s comprehension of God’s word so that it can ‘dwell in them richly’, Colossians 3:16.

The Bible School involves monthly teaching sessions, and students are encouraged to share with others about the content of these sessions.

All those attending Bible School receive the content for the year (often in the form of a book or booklet), as well as specific summaries and study questions for each session. The summaries and questions are intended to support every person’s engagement with the content and provide useful prompts for further fellowship.

Our Bible School is held on the third Saturday of the month (3pm – 5pm). All are welcome.
